East Haven Builders Supply was founded in 1960 by the Thomas family with the goal of becoming the dominant supplier of building materials to contractors primarily in the Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and New York markets. This family owned business sustained exponential growth while maintaining the core value of immediate response to details, customer needs, and service issue resolution.
In 1995 the company ventured into the design and sales of kitchen, bath, and other cabinetry with the creation The Kitchen Factor, a showroom open to the public in addition to builders and remodeling contractors. Experienced, seasoned professional designers were brought in with expertise, not only to sell product, but to plan, coordinate, and factor in all the components that make up the completed kitchen installation.
U.S. LBM, recipient of the 2015 ProSales Dealer of the Year, is a collection of leading building material distributors across 29 states with more than 230 locations. U.S. LBM is one of the fastest growing companies in our industry and is recognized as one of the largest building products distributors in the United States. The U.S. LBM model is to serve as a platform for further investments and acquisitions in the pro dealer market—preferably in partnership with current ownership/management. U.S. LBM encourages those individual businesses to operate as autonomous local divisions while enjoying the capital and other resources of a much larger national organization.
